Strongly influenced her educational upbringing at Wyedean Comprehensive and her family connections with Gloucestershire, it is no surprise that J.K Rowling featured the Forest of Dean in the final film.
The Deathly Hallows - Part.1' follows the three best friends, Harry, Hermione and Ron as they search for the remaining Horcruxes. The final film incorporates many beautiful UK locations and the Forest of Dean is no exception! Visit the Forest of Dean and you'll get to see the woods where Hermione and Harry camp, best viewed from the spectacular Symonds Yat Rock.
Rowling confesses that the character of Hermoine is loosely based on herself and so it seems especially touching that Hermoine remembers her family camping holidays in the Forest of Dean with a warm nostalgia. Why not follow in Hermione's footsteps and camp in the great outdoors.
Whatever you decide to do on your visit to the Forest of Dean, you'll be reassured that you will be visiting one of Harry Potter's best film locations.
